Q&A with Tony

What interested you about patient reported measures research and/or projects?

I am keen to learn how we can learn from each other, and from other sectors, about the things that work (and those that don’t) when measuring what matters to consumers.

What is your biggest achievement in relation to patient reported measures research, or the application of research into practice?

Each program now has aligned Consumer Advocates — most of whom have lived experience of that program or service — who survey current inpatients. The relatability of being asked questions by non-clinicians tends to glean a greater number of Quality Improvements, many of which can be implemented quickly and at low/no cost. This initiative adds to the number of ways that our consumers are able to provide feedback.

How do you approach collaboration with consumers, carers and community? Or how do think we can work together to keep making advancements in this space?
