What is the Patient Report­ed Mea­sures Research Col­lab­o­ra­tive Grant? 

This research fund­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty engages consumers/​consumer groups, clin­i­cians and researchers to under­take research in patient report­ed mea­sures. This will be deliv­ered through the cre­ation of con­sumer and aca­d­e­m­ic part­ner­ships with­in health to work togeth­er on a research project that builds research capa­bil­i­ty and capac­i­ty in PRMs research excellence. 

The objec­tives of the PRM Research Col­lab­o­ra­tive Grant oppor­tu­ni­ty is to:

  • sup­port a col­lab­o­ra­tive research project between con­sumers, researchers, and health­care organisations
  • embed applied research that has poten­tial impact on health ser­vice deliv­ery, through the imple­men­ta­tion of patient expe­ri­ence and out­come measures
  • build research capa­bil­i­ty and capac­i­ty in con­sumer-led PRMs research across the health sec­tor in SA 
  • Pro­mote the trans­la­tion of research to clin­i­cal practice

The Grant is pro­vid­ed by the Com­mis­sion on Excel­lence and Inno­va­tion in Health (CEIH) and is once-off fund­ing for a research project to sup­port and pro­mote con­sumer-led research in patient report­ed measures. 

To be eli­gi­ble, the appli­ca­tion must be a joint sub­mis­sion, by a con­sumer and a mem­ber of the PRMs Research Col­lab­o­ra­tive as co-Lead investigators.

How much grant fund­ing is available?

The total grant fund­ing pool is $25,000 (GST inclusive).

Selec­tion

A selec­tion com­mit­tee will be estab­lished from rel­e­vant CEIH staff, Health Trans­la­tion SA and rel­e­vant advi­so­ry per­sons. All appli­ca­tions will be assessed on meet­ing the eli­gi­bil­i­ty cri­te­ria and rat­ed in terms of col­lab­o­ra­tive part­ner­ships, antic­i­pat­ed outcomes/​outputs.

Eth­i­cal clearance 

The appli­cant must pro­vide doc­u­men­tary evi­dence of approval from a rel­e­vant research eth­ic com­mit­tee pri­or to com­mence­ment of the research project.
