PRMs Program announces partnership for rollout

A new pro­gram in part­ner­ship with The Clin­i­cian will improve how patients report on their health-relat­ed qual­i­ty of life and their expe­ri­ences receiv­ing care in SA Health ser­vices, to bet­ter shape the future of our health system.

The CEIH has been lead­ing South Australia’s efforts to intro­duce a state-wide ​‘Patient Report­ed Mea­sures’ (PRMs) pro­gram, cen­tred around people’s own per­cep­tions of the impact of their health con­di­tion, their health goals and asso­ci­at­ed out­comes, their expe­ri­ences of the health sys­tem and their care.

Using The Clinician’s inno­v­a­tive dig­i­tal plat­form ZEDOC, South Aus­tralians will be asked about their health­care out­comes and expe­ri­ences with their respons­es col­lect­ed, rapid­ly analysed and used to inform clin­i­cal deci­sion making.

Megan Scott, Direc­tor of the CEIH Patient Report­ed Mea­sures Pro­gram, said ​“The intro­duc­tion of real time vis­i­bil­i­ty of patient report­ed mea­sures has been proven to enhance patient and clin­i­cian part­ner­ships through improved deci­sion mak­ing, and deliv­ers health­care that is dri­ven by patient values.

The Clin­i­cian is a New Zealand based dig­i­tal health­care com­pa­ny with large scale expe­ri­ence in PRM sys­tems, includ­ing pro­vid­ing solu­tions for Singapore’s Pub­lic Health Sys­tem and Israel’s Clalit Health Services.

The roll­out will begin this year with pilots in select­ed SA Health ser­vices, with fur­ther stages to be designed in col­lab­o­ra­tion with SA Health Local Health Networks.
